Orange Parrot Tulip- Painting #29

6 x 8 in. Oil on board 1/30/2016

It’s flower Saturday and I’m still enthralled with parrot tulips. This one in particular really moved me. I feel lucky every day that I get to have this kind of emotional connection when I’m working. It’s quickly becoming the high point of my day. It slows everything down and allows space for anything to happen. I’m not saying it’s all a bed of roses but the act of doing is becoming a very comfortable feeling. This idea of sitting down from start to finish and creating something out of nothing can really make a girl feel pretty darn good, let me tell ya. Lots and lots of completions. Things I’ve always wanted to try I find myself tackling. I may not always knock things out of the park, but it’s not about that. It’s about getting my eyes to look everyday. And they are.

Well, it’s been four weeks now. One month down, eleven more to go.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far! You have no idea how much it has kept me going. I knew this wouldn’t be easy but I knew I wanted to do it. And that I could do it, if I set my mind to it. Several of the works have sold already, and some of them have been bought as gifts. I’m touched. I didn’t see that coming. So I offer them up to whomever wants to own them. Regardless of size, they are priced at $100.

Cheers! And onward….
