Haunted Robin- Painting #68

6 x 6 in. Oil on board 3/16/2016

SOLD

The first robin of Spring. I picked up this little guy after some trouble with the last round of coated boards failed me. Had to stop midway on something I knew would need more time to finish since the coating hadn't been properly done. I rushed it a bit. It worked last time, or so I thought. I aborted the painting and scrambled to do something on a smaller board from another round of prep. The dreaded dying daffodil.

So...I only just made the connection to the 'haunted' aspect. Ha. I had meant it to be because of the girl. Cool. It's funny to write a post right after painting. I never know what I'm going to say until I say it. It's that moment of reflection that often makes for some lovely connections.

Also- note that the background is much more sea foam green, like a lot more. It's actually very rich but I think the light is blowing it out. I'll try taking another again in the morning.
