Tibetan Box - Painting #7

100.00

This #365 painting was painted on 1/8/2016. It’s of a beautiful little box that was given to me for my birthday by my ex husband. There was a scroll inside of it pledging the gift of an introductory oil painting class at the School of Visual Arts here in NYC. He believed the work in acrylics I was doing at the time suggested that maybe oils were more my thing. And boy was he right. It was the class that demystified oils for me and I took to it like a duck in water. Later he pushed me to take all those acrylic paintings to the National Academy to try for a scholarship. Low and behold, I got in! I was over the moon. Having been self taught up until then, I was about to get a formal education. That’s when I carefully chose Sharon Sprung to be my teacher and stayed with her for three years learning drawing and painting from life. Best. Decision. Ever. (!!)

I still have the box, obviously, since you’re seeing it here. It is now the salt cellar that holds my magic salt on my dining room table. And by magic salt I mean Maldon Sea Salt flakes. That stuff really is magical.
