Black Friday- Painting #113
Standing With Standing Rock Ebay Fundraiser
5 1/4 x 8 in. Oil on board 11/29/2016
It was a Black Friday here in the states but it had nothing to do with post-Thanksgiving shopping. Images of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe getting pummeled with rubber bullets and water cannons in freezing conditions were hard to watch. Let alone comprehend.
The Dakota Access Pipeline is set for construction through the sacred burial grounds of these indigenous people and under the Missouri River threatening our drinking water and possibly destroying the land itself. Rerouted because it passed near Bismarck, the state capital, for that very reason.
I'd like to 'check in' and Stand With Standing Rock as well. This painting will go up for auction on eBay with the net proceeds going directly to the tribe to help in their efforts to protect our water supply. (Only the eBay fee for posting will come out of whatever I raise for it.) Shipping is free and in time for the holidays. It ships in a pretty cool package suitable for gifting, too.
Please join me in doing what we can to help. If you were thinking of donating anyway consider this as an option and you'll receive a painting as well as warm and fuzzy feels. Win win.
Thank you for your support.
The auction begins Thursday December 1st at 9pmEST/6pm PST. It will last for ten days. (The link becomes active once the auction begins.) Share with your friends or post on your Facebook page to help spread the word. Water is life.
